Just the Good Stuff: 10 Natural Tips for Spring Cleaning

April showers bring May flowers! It also brings mud, dust, and allergies! We came up with 10 tips to naturally clean your home. Happy Spring cleaning!

Declutter

Why clean more than you need to? Take a survey of your space and declutter any mess or trash. Also, go through and donate anything that doesn’t bring you joy or work in the space. This process will make things worse before they get better so hang in there!

Freshen the Air

Many air fresheners and rooms sprays claim to cleanse the air but some do more harm than good. Try an all-natural room spray that actually helps to cleanse the air without harsh artificial fragrances and chemicals.

Don’t worry about getting a headache or harming dogs or small children. Our products are tested only on willing humans, and only buy ingredients from suppliers that follow the same practices. We use only pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils, and are extremely proud of our ingredient lists.  Did you know that legally, putting ingredients on household products isn’t necessary? Yeah, we think that’s weird too. Here are the ingredients, because we have nothing to hide and you deserve to know: pure witch hazel extract, distilled water, & blend of essential oils. That's it.

This room spray can be simply sprayed in the air, sprayed on furniture (spot test first!), and on anything that needs to be freshened up!

Swap Closets

Pack away those bulky winter coats that take up all the room in your closet. Use space saver bags to minimize storage space and also keep your bulky items mold and bug-free!

Re-arrange your Space

If you de-clutter you may need to figure out a new layout for your home. Make sure to clean under every piece of furniture (even the couch, trust me on this one)! Under the couch maybe home to favorite dog toys, old snacks, the occasional sock, and even that missing remote. There is also dust! Clean thoroughly to remove allergens from their air.

Don’t forget walls and baseboards

Dust can settle on baseboards and even on walls. Give both a thorough wipe down. If you have little ones get to their level to remove fingerprints and smudges. You can use a mixture of vinegar water and your favorite essential oils to help cleanse the wall without affecting the paint!

Dust

Leave no figurine unturned! It is amazing how much dust can collect on books, picture frames, and door frames. Use a mixture of water, distilled vinegar, a little oil, and essential oils in a spray bottle for a safe dusting. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe away dust and dirt. Remember to change out your dust rag often.

Clean your Microwave with Lemons

Cut up lemons and place them in a bowl with water. Microwave for 2 minutes and let the steam loosen food debris. Leave the lemon mixture in the microwave for at least 2-3 minutes with the door closed to get the best results. Wipe clean with a cloth.

Wash Rugs and Carpets

How long has it been since you have deep cleaned the living room rug? Use a steam cleaner to help remove and loosen dirt on the carpet. Also, utilize the drier weather and leave rugs outside to dry naturally.

Groom your Pets

We love our furry friends! However, with the warmer weather, they are probably starting to shed that winter coat. This can cause a lot more dander in the house and cause furniture and floors to collect fur. Make your pet more comfortable in the warmer weather and get rid of that excess fur. It will change your life!
