- 1oz Fresh Orange Juice
- 1 slice of grapefruit
- 1 slice of Orange Rind
- 1oz Simple Syrup
Refreshing Fruity Tequila Cocktail
It's officially summer! Nothing says summertime like days by the pool, sitting on the back porch, and sipping on a cold and refreshing cocktail.
As some may know our brand was born behind the bar, and our Grooming Oil varieties are based on craft cocktails we loved making. Our Orange & Grapefruit blend's scent is a crisp and bright combination; the notes of citrus fruit are clean and delicious. We wanted to add all of those elements into a well-balanced cocktail with a twist.
What is more refreshing than a homemade grapefruit tequila? We used the peels of fresh grapefruit to naturally infuse the tequila for a citrusy fresh finish without being sour or bitter.
Did we mention homemade simple syrup? If you have never made your own before, try it. It is super simple and really adds complexity to the cocktail. All you need is equal parts sugar and water. You can also pre-make a jar for later use. Homemade simple syrup will last a month in the refrigerator and doesn't contain any preservatives or additives.
If you are serving cocktails for a crowd you can pre-make a pitcher (or two) and enjoy all day long.
Wash orange and grapefruit. Cut and juice 1oz of orange and grapefruit. Peel grapefruit with a vegetable peeler and set aside. Peel orange for garnish.
Simple Syrup: Add 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water to a saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Let cool and pour into a glass jar with a lid. Simple syrup will keep, refrigerated, for about one month.
Grapefruit infused tequila: Add 2 cups of silver tequila to a mason jar and add grapefruit peels. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
Pour the grapefruit tequila, ice, orange juice, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously for 30 seconds and strain into an iced cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and orange peel. Enjoy!
